Coolness

I finally got my author copies of Die Perfektesten 1440 Minuten meines Lebens.  Even though it's been out for like 2 months, actually holding a copy of a book I wrote that was translated into another language is pretty frickin sweet.

The thing I was most curious about is how they were going translate deathday letter into German.  They went with "todestagbrief," which, according to my best friend Rach's super smart husband is a very literal translation. Basically they just took all three words and crammed them into one.  Either way, it's cool.

This, I think, is one of those authorly milestones that makes it all seem real.

And I've finally decided that for my first youtube video, to be posted later today, I'm going to attempt to read some of it aloud.

  1. Those Germans. So efficient with their multiple-words-crammed-together-neologisms.

I took German in high school. As far as I can remember this says "The perfect 1440 minutes - the love of my life." Interesting.

  2. As close as I can tell, the translation is: The Most Perfect 1440 Minutes of My Life.
