Sky Diving Video

Okay, last post about this, I promise.  Anyway, there's not a lot of talking on this, but the gist is that when I got in the plane, I started thinking, "Oh God, oh God, what am I doing?"  My heart was beating so quickly that I thought I was going to pass out.

Then they make you stand on this 4" ledge while the guy you're tandem with holds on.  You stare down and hold onto the straps of your harness.  Then he heaves forward and you fall.  I can't describe the feeling of standing in the door of the plane looking out over all that sky, knowing I was going to be falling downward.  It was completely insane.    Anyway, here's the video.  And there are more pictures below that.

  3. Watching that made me want to vomit. Especially how small and hot that little stifling plane looked. OMG, bleh.

  4. B.J. - LOL! I didn't feel sick until the parachute deployed. I get motion sickness so all the swaying did my stomach in.

Cole: They did do a pretty great job, right? Best money I ever spent. I'm now trying to figure a way to put that in a book.

Rach: The plane was the worst. There weren't any seats, just these benches that you straddled. My heart was racing. But they kept the door open most of the time for circulation. Still, the ten minutes in the air gave me TOO MUCH time to think about what I was going to do. It doesn't get real until you're in the air.

  5. Dude, I am so envious (for your book coming out AND skydiving). That looked like so much fun. I would seriously love to do that someday. I'm proud of you though for going through with it. It's a damn brave person who can step out of that airplane. Thanks for sharing the trip with us.

  6. Ok, ok. After finishing your book I may at least consider skydiving now. Or one of those really scary fair rides run by stoned carnies. Although, jumping out of a plane may be safer. Awesome, awesome book!!
